  TESTIMONIALS
"...This is an excellent program. I'm so glad that I stumbled on to this when researching for task management programs. Very low learning curv, quite flexible, and the price is right. Tried at least 20 other programs, either too complicated, too expensive, or poor documentation..."

Stop procrastination checklist:

  • Create written/visible plan of actions to avoid distractactions, and communicate this plan to employees.

The best instrument is provident planning of working activities to outline everything that should be done and to get a clear picture. Ensure that this plan of work is optimized, understandable and feasible.

  •  Promote individual work organization.

Being organized helps to defeat chaos and feeling of being overwhelmed. Arrange and promote reasonable disciplineand self-organization – this should be agreed and accepted by employees.

  • Ensure that all tasks are clearly stated, fair and feasible.

The first way of avoiding procrastination is assigning feasible, clearly formulated and fair tasks to performers. Make sure that it is really possible to accomplish this amount of work with receiving stated outputs and before a given due date. Make sure that employees have all means and resources to accomplish assigned tasks.

  • Ensure that each task is assigned to appropriate performer(s) who is (are) able to accomplish it

Often it is just a question of competent staff management – probably some tasks were procrastinated because of wrong assignment – maybe performer's skills or vision of work were insufficient, or workloads excessive.

  • Ensure that employees are rather properly motivated, but not feared of punishments.

One of the most common reasons for procrastination is paying too much attention to details. Don't try to do everything perfectly, and instead of perfectionism promote progress-oriented style of work – concentrating on accomplishing really essential steps and important tasks.

  • Be attentive to employees who are hampered by chronic procrastination.

You should consider what is going on in each specific case. If employee faces the problem that is growing like a snowball – it is very serious case and you should give him/her a chance just to stop and wipe the slate clean.

  • Be open for communicating and discussing anxiety with your employees.

Declare that if some employees think that they cannot meet target dates of some tasks because of certain reasons and they cannot do anything around this – they freely can ask for your help and advice. Declare that it is better to prevent procrastination beforehand, than to face its consequences.

  • Take care of interruptions and distractions.

You should ensure calm environment for those who are working at important tasks. You cannot expect good working results from people who are regularly distracted from their main work. Make project and environment as pleasant as possible.

  • Decrease multitasking.

One of indispensable elements is decreasing of multitasking. Employees, especially those who are not organized enough, cannot produce good results ...
