S (Specific):
- Determine what is your general objectives
- Determine why these objectives are important for you
- Ensure that you know the ways how to attain these objectives
If you are not sure - try to start with not very ambitious or complicated aims, each attained simpler aim will give you valuable experience.
- Elaborate steps required to attain your objectives
- Elaborate activities required to complete successfully each step
- Ensure that you are able to perform (organize) required activities successfully
- Set time frames of project
When you want to start and when you suppose to achieve your general objective
- Create action plan which includes order of steps that drive you to main goals achievement
- Brake down each step (if required) into order of activities which are necessary for step completion
- Ensure that all steps are clear and easy
- Ensure that all steps are specific and tell you what actually to do
M (Measurable):
- Determine for each of your steps criteria that can measure your success
Define for each step answer for question - "How will I know when it is accomplished?"
