1. Establishing sponsorship goals
- Think over what goals of sponsorship projects you intend to achieve
- Goals should be specific, clear and consistent
- The most possible goals can be as follows:
- reach larger target audience
- promote a new brand or idea
- promote corporate image
- capture a new market
- Verify that goals are not in conflict with corporate vision
- Identify a sponsorship project that pursues established goals
2. Costing sponsorship project
- Create a budget for the sponsorship project according to established goals
- Break the sponsorship project costs down into manageable pieces. For example, there can be the following items:
- production
- equipment and materials
- human resources
- administration and staff
- taxes
3. Choosing a partner
- Create a list of potential partners, including profit and non-profit organizations, charities, government agencies, foreign companies, etc.
- Carefully review each of the partners in the list and ask the following questions:
- think over whether they will be interested in your sponsorship project?
- what potential benefits will they get then?
- will your company really benefit from being linked up with them?
